Senior Piano Tutor

Nichola began her formal study of the piano at the age of 17 and sat her grade 8 exam one year later. After leaving the Royal Northern College of Music she continued her studies with teachers of the Taubman approach in Berlin and New York.

 

As part of her training Nichola has attended the Golandsky Institute Summer Symposium at Princeton University, performed for a masterclass at Cambridge University, and travelled to New York, Milan and London to study with Edna Golandsky.  In Feb 2016, Nichola was invited to attend a teacher training workshop in Philadelphia led by Bob Durso, Taubman teacher and faculty member of the Golandsky Institute.  Nichola continues her studies and professional development with Edna Golandsky.

In May 2015, Nichola organised a Taubman Technique workshop where students were given the opportunity to work with her former teacher, Kenji Ouellet (Berlin).

Nichola's teaching has contributed to the achievement of many impressive results in ABRSM exams and high placements at local competitions such as the Abergavenny Eisteddfod.

 

In addition to her private work, Nichola has also taught piano at King Henry VIII School Abergavenny. Cross Ash Primary and Trellech Primary.
